Teaching Artist Fellowship, Metro Theater Company

Metro Theater Company (St. Louis, MO) seeks a highly-qualified, energetic, emerging professional in the field of Theatre for Young Audiences for a Teaching Artist Fellowship during the 2012-2013 season. Defined by creativity, flexibility, collaboration, and frontline community engagement, Metro Theater Company’s excellence is recognized nationally. The Teaching Artist Fellow will work closely with Metro’s Education Director and Resident Teaching Artist to plan curriculum and to teach in a wide variety of Metro’s K-12 programs in school and community settings. The Teaching Artist Fellow will gain invaluable professional experience working alongside a small, highly-skilled staff in a dynamic, creative environment. The ideal candidate will be working toward or have recently completed a master’s degree in Theatre for Youth or Theatre Education. Interest and experience in Theatre for Social Change a plus. Previous practical experience teaching creative drama to young people and a bachelor’s degree in theatre arts or a related field required. Fellowship includes housing and a stipend, and runs late August 2012 through early May 2013.
