Director, Dance & Theatre Department, Manhattanville College

Manhattanville College is an independent, coeducational, liberal arts college with a nationally and internationally diverse student body of approximately 1,600 undergraduates and 1,200 graduate students, located 28 miles north of New York City on 100 acres. The Dance & Theatre Department at Manhattanville College is seeking a Director. Applicant must demonstrate commitment to performing arts within the Liberal Arts context, extensive teaching and administrative experience in higher education, experience as Artistic Director/Producer, dedication to integration of dance and theatre forms, commitment to educational and applied theatre. Applicant must have proven ability to direct student productions, including Shakespeare, teach theatre history, dramatic literature, criticism , areas of Performance Studies, and a variety of contemporary, innovative performance techniques, with particular emphasis on physical theatre. Must be able to lead through consensus, work collaboratively with faculty and Associate Director, and develop strategies for recruitment. An MFA or PhD is required. Tenure track appointment beginning August 2012.
