Development Associate (Part-time, Contract), American Alliance for Theatre and Education

AATE has an immediate opportunity for a Development Associate, a fundraising professional to create and implement plans and strategies to achieve contributed revenue goals. This is a temporary part-time position with the opportunity to become a permanent member of staff following this short-term contract.

Duties include: Work with the Executive Director to develop and begin implementation of annual fundraising plan focusing on: Foundations and Government Grants; Major Gifts and Sponsorships from Individual and Corporate Donors; Annual Fund Gifts and Renewals; In Kind Gifts; Special Events; Endowment Gifts; Donor Relations; Prospect Research

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree, 2-3 years related experience, preferably in arts education-related fund raising, to include experience with grant writing and the production of corporate sponsorship and philanthropic giving proposals. Superior writing skills are essential. Knowledge of current trends in online fundraising and general philanthropy is desired along with excellent computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office Suite. Experience utilizing eTapestry software preferred. Proven ability to set priorities and meet deadlines; ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion, a proven ability to work successfully with others to achieve institutional objectives; ability to analyze and present information effectively and respond to questions from board members, donors, members, and the general public. Ability to interact with donors and prospects by email, on the phone, in print and in person with ease. An appreciation of theatre, theatre for young audiences, educational theatre, youth theatre, and/or professional experience in the performing arts or arts membership organizations is strongly preferred.
