Long-term Substitute Drama Teacher, National Presbyterian School

National Presbyterian School, an independent, coeducational 276 student elementary (N-6thgrade) day school located in Upper Northwest Washington, DC is conducting a search for a long-term substitute Drama Teacher for the second semester of the 2011-2012 school year.

Founded in 1969 as an educational mission of The National Presbyterian Church, National Presbyterian School is a traditional, co-educational elementary school dedicated to educational excellence in an ecumenical Christian environment. The Drama Teacher is responsible for teaching weekly drama classes to students in Nursery- Grade 6, leading and/or assisting with grade level performances including a Shakespearean performance in Grade 5, and assisting with the Spring Musical. Ideal candidates will have experience creating and implementing a standards-based drama curriculum in an elementary school setting, and knowledge of teaching process drama, creative drama, acting, Shakespeare, and playwriting. A degree in Theatre for Youth or Educational Theatre preferred.
