Managing Director, Pennsylvania Youth Theatre

Celebrating 25 years of performing arts excellence, Pennsylvania Youth Theatre seeks a vibrant and talented arts professional to join the staff as Managing Director.

The Managing Director works closely with the Artistic Director, staff, and an engaged Board of Directors, all of whom live Pennsylvania Youth Theatre’s mission within a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The Managing Director is responsible for staff supervision and the overall management of the non-artistic aspects of the company, including fundraising, budgeting, financial management, contract administration, strategic planning, community engagement and Board relations. The Managing Director functions as the nexus among several important organizational goals, including the responsibility to support PYT’s mission, the commitment to fiscal stability, and the ongoing development of PYT’s important relationships with communities.

Expected credentials are:

• A terminal degree or equivalent professional managing director experience in non-profit/arts and/or business administration;
• Significant administrative experience, including responsibility for budgeting, fundraising, personnel management, long-term planning, development, grant writing and grant reporting;
• Superior writing and communication skills;
• A proven passion for community service;

PYT’s Performing Arts School maintains a comprehensive after-school performing arts curriculum, which includes creative drama, acting, dance and voice instruction. PYT’s performing arts classes are attended yearly by over 400 students ages 3 through 18.
