TEACHING ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE: ACTING/DIRECTING

The Department of Theatre Arts at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a non tenure-track, renewable (annually for up to three years) position at the rank of Visiting Lecturer, beginning September 2010.

The successful candidate will have extensive professional experience in the theatre and will bring skills that supplement those of the current faculty. Responsibilities include participating in University of Pittsburgh Repertory Theatre productions and the department's touring outreach program, Shakespeare-in-the-Schools in the capacity of performer and director/writer.

Other responsibilities include teaching undergraduate acting or directing courses; developing and implementing artist workshops and residencies in area schools; serving as coach or advisor for faculty and student productions; providing mentorship for all students in the department. Teaching Artists-in-Residence are expected to attended faculty meetings, serve on committees, and participate fully in the administrative duties of the Theatre Arts Department.
