Executive Director, DC Arts and Humanities Education Collaborative

The DC Arts and Humanities Education Collaborative (DCAHEC) is seeking outstanding applicants for the position of Executive Director. An 80-member organization, DCAHEC is a collective voice promoting equitable access to quality arts and humanities education for all students in DC public and chartered public schools. The Executive Director is responsible for the consistent pursuit of the mission and organizational objectives, managing a full time staff of two and reporting directly to the President of the Board of Directors. The ideal candidate is an arts education professional who has demonstrated leadership, expertise with external relations and fundraising, and advanced nonprofit management skills.

Responsibilities:
• Leadership of staff in the development, implementation and accomplishment of short and long range plans, policies, programs and other activities that serve the member organizations in pursuit of exemplary arts and humanities programs that enrich student’s lives;
• Financial management of the organization, including the development and implementation of the annual budget;
• Informing and guiding the Board of Directors, committees and the membership in the creation of policies, programs, and strategic direction of the organization.
• Administration of the overall operation of the organization, including: evaluating the results of program activities, ensuring that continuing contractual obligations are being fulfilled; allocating resources for greater program effectiveness and efficiency; developing organizational and administrative policies and program objectives for Board consideration.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in arts education or related field, Master’s degree preferred;
• Five or more years of relevant experience including supervising staff and delivering high quality education programs;
• Experience working with public school systems a plus;
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills;
• Superb writing, communication and analytical skills;
• Expertise in MS Office, experience with QuickBooks Pro a plus; and
• Ability to work flexibly in a changing non-profit and public education environment.
