Operations Manager, American Alliance for Theatre and Education (AATE)

The American Alliance for Theatre & Education is seeking candidates for an integral staff position in the AATE National Office in Bethesda, MD. The Operations Manager reports directly to the Executive Director and is manages the day-to-day administration of the organization. Duties include:

Office Administration:

Manage all day-to-day administration in the AATE National Office; and correspondence from AATE National Office; provide technical support for staff members, fulfill online store orders, train and supervise interns, and other duties as prescribed by the Executive Director.

Membership:

Provide customer service to members, process new memberships and renewals over the phone and by mail; execute monthly, quarterly, and bi-annual membership retention efforts; audit membership records annually for duplicates and unreachable members; audit student memberships monthly, and other duties as prescribed by the Executive Director.

Communications:

Manage National office email administration and website content; update and maintain listservs, and other duties as prescribed by the Executive Director.

Programming & National Conference:

Provide support as needed for committees & chairs, manage data collection and contracts, serve as project manager for printed materials, create and process registrations, manage all necessary tasks associated with meetings, attend meetings as necessary, provide on-site customer service, prepare daily announcement newsletter/email, manage lists; create annual schedule/production timeline; collect applications, plan and execute print/electronic marketing; prepare materials for regional events; manage on-site registrations, and other duties as prescribed by the Executive Director.

Skills/credentials needed:

Superb organization skills
Friendly attitude; desire to work and interact with people all over the country
Knowledge of Google Apps, Association Management Software (ASM), eTapestry and Adobe suite preferred
Passion for arts education and/or theatre for, with and by young people
Knowledge of non-profit management preferred
4 year college degree required, preferably with non-profit, arts management, association management or business administration degree
2-3 years experience in a non-profit organization or arts organization preferred
